Bwindi Volcanoes Lodge is situated next to Bhuoma village just on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in western Uganda.  Set above a river and on a hillside looking out onto the vibrant rainforest, the Bwindi Volcanoes Lodge is the perfect base for gorilla tracking and visits to the National Park.

The eight spacious thatch cottages have private bathroom facilities, with "bucket" showers and "long drop" toilets, similar to those found in remote safari camps. All the cottages have their own veranda, looking out onto the forest on the opposite bank. The restaurant and bar also look out this way.

Bwindi is home to more than half of the world's wild mountain gorillas and these can be tracked as part of the National Park's regulated program. Most guests come to Bwindi for this reason; however there are 93 mammal species, 11 of which are primates and almost 350 different types of birds in this region. There are a number of nature walks and trails guests can take to view these animals. A knowledgeable guide will help you along the way.
