The luxurious Semliki Safari Lodge is located in the Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve in Uganda. The only accommodation in 500km of wilderness, Semliki offers a truly private experience. The lodge has a rustic feel, with only local sourced materials used. There is a vast range of ecosystems in the local area from open grassy plains to tropical rainforest in very close proximity to each other.

Accommodation & Facilities
This beautiful lodge accommodates a maximum of only 16 guests in eight spacious tents ensuring both privacy and marvellous views across the Western Rift Valley. The large canvas tents have permanent thatched roofs and include private bathroom facilities with running water and a private veranda. The pool overlooking Blue Mountains of the Congo provide the ideal means by which to relax, as do the easy sofa piled with cushions in the main lounge area. All food is home made and even the bread is baked daily.

Wildlife & Activities
At Semliki, you can take day and night game drives, guided bush walks, boat trips on Lake Albert, jungle walks, bird watching, hiking, fishing and visits to the local community. Guests can also join resident chimpanzee researchers on guided chimp walks to assist them with their research. The unique geography of the reserve is reflected in the diversity of wildlife species found here. Both the forest species of Central Africa (ie: forest buffalo, a darker leopard sub-species and the smaller forest elephant) as well as the key savannah species of East Africa such warthog, buffalo and numerous antelope species and lion can be found here, although big cat and elephant sightings are only occasional in this area. The bird life is also unique in that the reserve is graced with both southern and northern migrants, the wetlands teem with birds, including the rare and hard to find shoebill which nests in the shallows of Lake Albert.
