Luangwa Bush Camping

  

Luangwa Bush Camping is a multi-day guided walking safari operated by Robin Pope Safaris based in the game rich Nsefu sector of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park. The walking safari, which accommodates a maximum of four guests and can be taken on a shared or private basis (for an additional cost), is led by Debs Tittle, one of the most experienced walking guides in Zambia.

Accommodation & Facilities
Typically guests spend two to three nights bush camping with the days spend walking in varied and interesting terrain from one camp to the next.  The camps are simple but comfortable bush camps with walk-in A-frame safari tents. Each tent has a very comfortable bed roll / mattress on the ground and full bedding.  There is a shared bucket shower nearby and the shared short drop bush loo. Meals are taken under the stars beside the camp fire.

Wildlife & Activities
The emphasis on these safaris is walking. Each day guests will have the opportunity to explore this corner of the South Luangwa on foot in the company of an expert guide and armed game scout. Walking safaris enable you to get a completely different dimension to a vehicle based safari without the sound of an engine. You are at one with the wilderness, and the sounds, sights and smells of the bush are very much more intense as a result. Often the focus is on the smaller species, spoor, tracks and birds, and although you are likely to also encounter other larger animals. Luangwa Bush Camping combines well with a stay at one of the permanent camps within the national park, walking between the camps.
