Crocodile River Camp
Like its sister property Crocodile River, Chikoko Tree Camp also consists of just three chalets, resulting
in an intimate environment. Situated under an acacia grove, the camp is located just 8km upstream from
Tafika Camp, but the feeling of remoteness is overriding.
One of the smallest camps in the South Luangwa with just three chalets, Crocodile River Camp is the
epitome of an intimate safari camp. A seasonal camp, Crocodile River overlooks a lagoon from its setting
under a grove of ebony trees, providing prime position from which to watch the wildlife activity unfold.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation is in three chalets which are quirky in design and style, but which also make use
of traditional building materials. Simple, comfortable accommodation provides a wonderful base from
which to explore the remote surroundings. The communal area comprises a small library, comfortable lounge,
fire pit and bar.
Wildlife & Activities
Activities at Crocodile River Camp are purely focussed on walking safaris to view resident game
such as lion, elephant and buffalo, well as take in the varied bird life. This provides a wonderful
means by which to explore the bush, get ‘under the skin’ of Africa and discover the inner
workings of the African environment.
