Shooting Star

Shooting Star is a small, family-run guesthouse, located on a hill near the fishing village of Kiwengwa and looks over a beautiful stretch of white beach and vivid blue ocean. The small makuti-roofed lodge is sheltered in attractive well-tended gardens alive with birdsong and butterflies.

The 16 rooms are situated a short walk from the lodge. The accommodation is constructed in conventional Zanzibari style with white washed walls, high beamed ceilings and large windows, air-conditioning and traditional style furniture. All rooms have a private verandah. There are also two suites offering a unique style of accommodation within a private villa, each with its own swimming pool. The open-air restaurant and bar have views over the tropical gardens and the stunning blue ocean. Guests and other visitors enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner encompassed by natural beauty while absorbing the gentle sounds of birdsong and the ocean. The lodge serves a wide variety of African and international meals, and specialize in lobster, meat grills and smoked fish, using authentic African recipes.
