Baraza Resort and Spa

Baraza Resort and Spa is a luxury beach side property located on the south east coast of the spice island of Zanzibar, approximately an hour from Stone Town and the airport. This lavish resort is a spectacular fusion of Swahili, Arabic and Indian design. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at Baraza is in 30 well-appointed and luxurious air-conditioned villas in four different categories, and one exclusive Presidential Villa with its own private beach access. Families are accommodated in the two bedroom villas which have have one large master bedroom and  the option to comfortably fit up to three beds in the second bedroom thus accommodating a maximum of five.  All of the villas have large airy en-suite bathrooms, a large TV and a DVD player; and finally a sumptuous terrace with a private plunge pool.

The main swimming pool is child friendly with steps leading into the pool and shallow end graduating gently to the deep end.

Eating & Sleeping
Chefs are very used to catering to children of all ages and children’s meals are served at any time.  Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Babysitting is offered by the staff members from the Kids Club or the housekeeping team. The cost is US$30 for the first two hours and US$10 for any additional hours

Activities
The resort has some magnificent public spaces with three beautiful restaurants, two bars with plenty of space to relax in comfort, quiet corners with comfortable chairs and day beds, a fully equipped fitness centre, tennis court, an excellent spa, and fully equipped water sports and on-site dive centre.

Specifically for children ……
There is a fully fitted Kids Club on site which is professionally staffed at specific times of the day and geared to keep kids entertained.  Children below four years of age must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian.  The staff at the water sports centre are also trained to interact safely with children and to offer kids activities in a safe way.  Activities include:
• Shell hunting and treasure hunting games.
• Warrior face painting.
• Video and board games.
• Cooking classes using local products
• Palm weaving, henna and hair braiding with parents’ consent.
