Belle Mare Plage
The Belle Mare Plage is a well-run, family-friendly resort with a lively atmosphere. The hotel is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach on 15 acres of land on the eastern side of the island of Mauritius. The road transfer from the airport takes approximately one hour. Children of all ages are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at Belle Mare Plage is in 279 en-suite rooms, suites and villas. Each is simply but stylishly decorated and has all modern amenities. The en-suite rooms and suites can accommodate one extra child on a sofa bed. For larger families there are two and three bedroomed villas with capacity to add an extra child per bedroom on a sofa bed.
The resort also has seven restaurants, a pool bar, a fully equipped kids club, gym, U Spa, a range of boutiques, two kilometres of beach front and four pools. All the pools are child friendly and one of them is heated. Villa pools can be heated upon request.
Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and all the restaurants have a children’s menu. Babysitting with qualified staff is available and bookings should be made 24 hours in advance.
Activities
The beach is protected by an offshore coral reef making it ideal for watersports and there are lots on offer including pedal boats, kayaks, windsurfs, catamarans, laser sail boats and waterskiing. Diving and Water-skiing is available to children as young as 8 years and Kayaking and snorkelling is offered on a case by case basis. Age appropriate kit is available and provided. There are also tennis courts, an on-site dive centre and two immaculate golf courses for keen golfers to choose from.
Specifically for children …
The Kids Club welcomes children aged 4 – 11 years. Children under four are also welcome provided they have parental supervision. The enthusiastic Kids Club staff are childcare and first aid certified and lead day and evening themed programmes such as pizza making, arts and crafts, kid’s circus, mini golf, games and scavenger hunts. On site there is a Kids Club swimming pool, playground, age appropriate washrooms and computer stations for gaming and internet access.
