Chindeni

Chindeni, part of the Bushcamp Company portfolio, is a seasonal bushcamp in a remote area of the South Luangwa National Park. Located at the edge of a permanent lagoon off the Luangwa River known for attracting wildlife, the setting is beautiful with the Chindeni Hills providing a dramatic backdrop.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has four large tents set on platforms, with vaulted canvas ceilings, wooden floors, four poster beds, a sitting area and en-suite bathrooms. The light colours and neutral decor are soothing and blend well with the surroundings. Offering great privacy, each tent has its own private deck raised over the lagoon, providing a perfect spot for watching the birds and animals that come to drink here. The central lounge and dining area, which also offers fantastic views, is set on several levels and surrounded by magnificent ebony trees. This is a great place to relax between activities, taking in the wildlife. Dinner is sometimes served on the beach area in front of the lounge, where guests can dine by the light of the campfire.

Wildlife & Activities
At Chindeni, wildlife viewing can be done on day and night drives and scenic sundowner trips in the surrounding area of the wildlife-rich South Luangwa National Park. This is also an ideal place for a walking safari, accompanied by one of the camp’s superb guides and a scout. A variety of different habitats near the camp are home to impressive amounts of wildlife drawn by the permanent waterholes and the river. A specialist photographic safari vehicle is available on request for an additional fee.
