Couleur Café

Couleur Café is a charming little guesthouse located in a quiet suburb of Antsirabe, about 170kms south of Antananarivo. This provides a wonderful overnight stop either on your way south to Tulear, or on your way back to Antananarivo.

Accommodation & Facilities
There are five bungalows (including a family room) at Couleur Café all of which are set in the pretty gardens.  Each room has an en-suite bathroom and a fireplace for the colder months. There is a cosy lounge and restaurant area where you will also find a souvenir shop filled with local Malagasy gifts. The restaurant here is one of the best in town, so it is best to pre-book a table.

Activities
Antsirabe was once a spa town and is steeped in colonial history, glimpses of which can still be seen today in the wide grassy boulevards, an impressive cathedral, a railway station and the original thermal baths.  It is a vibrant small town and it is wonderful to see the multi-coloured rickshaws (pousse-pousse) racing along the streets. Another highlight are the workshops where you can watch local craftsmen at work, making everything from zebu horn jewellery and accessories to tiny model cars and rickshaws.
