Dulini Moya
Dulini Lodge is set on the edge of the Mabrak River in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. There is no boundary between the private reserve and the national park so wildlife roams freely between the two. Children of eight years and above are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
This quiet and sophisticated lodge is made up of six thatched stone cottages sheltered by ebony trees. Each beautifully appointed cottage has an en-suite bathroom, a private plunge pool, and deck with views across to the dry riverbed where wildlife is often seen. The main area of the lodge has a comfortable sitting room and meals are frequently eaten outdoors under a huge jackalberry tree. A well-stocked wine cellar, gym, safari shop and heated swimming pool complete the facilities. There are no family cottages but triple suites are available on request for families. The third person must be between the ages of eight and 16 years.
Eating & Sleeping
The chefs can provide children’s food and will discuss with parents children’s preferences and will accommodate meals and meal times accordingly. Babysitting can be arranged and is provided by members of staff – normally the housekeeping ladies.
Wildlife & Activities
The game viewing is good with regular sightings of the ‘big 5’ of lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Birdlife in the area is also excellent. Guests can enjoy game drives and guided walking safaris with expert guides. These tend to be in the early mornings and late afternoons when the animals are at their most active.
Specifically for children …
The guides have a great deal of experience with families and many have children of their own. All are adept at keeping children engaged and finding the bush exciting and fun with spontaneous activities such as animal tracking, spore identification and bush orientation.
