Forest Chem Chem
Hidden in a grove of fever trees beside the Tarangire River, Forest Chem Chem sits in its own 16,000 hectare private concession. Located on the eastern side of Lake Burunge adjoining the Tarangire National Park, famous for its towering baobab trees, the area is teeming with incredible wildlife. Children from six years are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
Forest Chem Chem offers the opportunity to experience a bush camp of your very own, giving privacy and flexibility. Available for exclusive use only, it has three vintage tents and one two-bedroomed family tent and sleeps up to eight adults and two children. It is ideal for families or friends travelling together. The layout of the family tent is a master bedroom with king size or twin beds and a second bedroom with twin beds. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms and the suite sleeps a maximum of four people.
Eating & Sleeping
Mealtimes are coordinated around the family. The chef is happy to discuss the children’s preference on arrival and provide accordingly. Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.
There are no childcare services available so parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.
Wildlife & Activities
With access to the national park and private concession, guests here enjoy a big wildlife experience on day and night drives, and are granted exclusive access in the private concession for walking safaris. Children below 16 are not permitted on big walking safaris.
Specifically for children …
Activities are planned with the family and will be discussed between the guides, management and guests when they arrive into camp. There are several activities that are tailored for children including:
• Search for wildlife tracks with your guide and make a mould of the footprints to take home as a souvenir.
• Gather food for the lizards and ground squirrels.
• Cook together as a family over an open fire.
• Venture out on a fossil walk.
