The Greater Mana Expedition is a six night safari that explores the more remote parts of Mana Pools in northern Zimbabwe. The safari visits three locations in the 118,000 hectare private Sapi Concession, which borders the National Park, with guests travelling on foot, by canoe, and open vehicle.
Accommodation & Facilities
With a maximum of six guests on each safari, the camps are small, intimate, and comfortable. Two of them have mobile safari tents that have an en-suite bathroom with a bucket shower and a flush loo. The middle camp consists of star beds, set on raised platforms with a bed on top and a bathroom below. Each camp has a dining area and a lounge, although meals are eaten outside whenever possible.
Wildlife & Activities
Mana Pools is both a World Heritage Site and a Ramsar Wetland Site, and has very large populations of wildlife and birds. Species that can be seen include lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wild dog, leopard, eland, hyena, waterbuck, impala, zebra, bushbuck and kudu. Much of this magnificent expanse of wilderness can only be explored on foot and the terrain is perfect for walking safaris. In addition, the safari includes game drives in open vehicles, canoeing and boating on the mighty Zambezi River.
