Hansa Hotel

The grand four star Hansa Hotel forms part of Swakopmund’s architectural culture and dates back to 1905. It is said to be one of the oldest buildings in the town, and possibly the oldest hotel in Namibia.  The hotel is an extraordinary sight sitting between the desert and the ocean.

Accommodation & Facilities
The Hansa Hotel has 58 rooms, including four family rooms and six suites, which all have en-suite bathrooms, satellite TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a safe. The hotel features two restaurants, one of which is on the terrace, and a cosy bar, an ideal place for cold winter nights. Guests have a wide range of services available including laundry and car washing.

Wildlife & Activities
Ideally situated in the centre of Swakopmund, the Hansa Hotel is within easy walking distance of town and the beach. While it’s often just used for a one night stay, it makes an ideal base for couple of nights when exploring the fascinating coastline and the Namib Desert in the hinterland. The adventure activities offered locally include kayaking in Walvis Bay, quad biking across the desert, sand-boarding down the dunes, flights over the desert, and excellent beach fishing.
