Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is set on the banks of the Luangwa River amid the impressive landscape of the South Luangwa National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities

Just 20 guests can be accommodated in eight large chalets or two luxury suites.  The roomy chalets are built on raised platforms and each has an en-suite bathroom and private veranda with beautiful views.  The two luxury suites have a private deck as well as an upstairs viewing veranda.  At the main lodge there is a bar area, swimming pool and a natural hot spring in which guests can unwind and take in the scenery. There is a small spa where guests can unwind in tranquil surroundings after a day of action in the bush.  Kafunta also has a small bush camp which combines brilliantly giving guests a completely different, more rustic experience.

Wildlife & Activities
The South Luangwa National Park has the highest concentration of hippo and crocodile in Africa as well as a good diversity of other wildlife. It is regarded as a very good place to see leopard as well as lion. While at Kafunta guests can explore the park on foot or by vehicle on day and night game drives. The photographic hide, located under the deck of the main lodge, is a great place to relax during the day and watch the game come to the water hole in front of camp.
