KaingU Safari Lodge

KaingU Safari Lodge has a beautiful forested setting on the banks of the Kafue River overlooking Kafue National Park in central Zambia.  The lodge is shaded by mature trees, and all of the rooms and public areas have views across the river.
Accommodation & Facilities
The six spacious and comfortable Meru style tents are built on raised timber decks under thatched canopies and house large bedrooms with big beds, comfortable chairs and a table.  Each has an en-suite bathroom and indoor and outdoor showers. To the front of the tent is a good sized shaded deck with a view over the river, and chairs for relaxing, enjoying the view or reading. KaingU Safari Lodge also has a family house, which comprises two en-suite bedrooms connected by a living room, all of which open onto a larger deck. All doors and windows have mosquito gauze, and lighting throughout the lodge is solar powered.  The main lodge building consists of a dining room, a bar, a lounge, and a spacious tree shaded deck overlooking the river.
Wildlife & Activities
KaingU Safari Lodge is an excellent base from which to explore Kafue National Park, or the Namwala Game Management Area in which the lodge sits. Kafue itself is a huge park, covering an area roughly the size of Wales. It is home to numerous wildlife species including lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, and rarer animals such as roan antelope. Safari activities at KaingU include game drives, boat trips, walking safaris, canoeing on the river, and fly camping. Visits to local communities can also be arranged, allowing guests to see daily life at first hand.
