Kanga Camp
Kanga Camp is located in a remote part of Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to its isolation, the region around the camp has is really peaceful and little visited, resulting in a truly authentic African feel and fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities. Kanga pan provides the only year-round source of water in the vicinity and is a great hub for wildlife in the area. Children from seven years are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
Kanga Camp has six Meru style tents, which all overlook the waterhole in Kanga Pan. Two of the tents are set up as honeymoon or family tents, with larger bedrooms than the others, and a bath as well as a shower. They can accommodate two children on day beds to allow families of four to be under the same roof. Each tent has an en-suite outdoor bathroom, with a shower and basin, and a flush loo. The public part of the camp is built on raised decking, and comprises a dining area, bar and library, small plunge pool, and lounge area overlooking a pan that attracts plentiful wildlife.
Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and with advance warning the kitchen can accommodate all types of dietary requirements and child specific meals.
There are no childcare facilities in camp, and given the possibility of animals wandering through, parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.
Wildlife & Activities
Activities available at Kanga Camp include day and night game drives in comfortable open vehicles, bush walks with experienced guides, and wildlife viewing from the camp deck, the ‘armchair safari’. Many predators, including lion, wild dog and leopard, reside in the woodland and open plains nearby. Large concentrations of buffalo are also common as are elephant, zebra, impala, kudu, warthog, baboon, and waterbuck.

All guides have had training for guiding children and families and are dedicated to giving young guests the best experience possible by providing variety and adjusting activities according to interests. Children from seven years are permitted on game drives.
