Kikapu Cottages – now closed

**Kikapu Cottages has now closed.  Other camps in the area you might consider are Medina Palms and Hemingways Watamu.**

Kikapu Cottages overlook the Indian Ocean at Watamu, just south of Malindi.  The lagoon here is shallow and is fringed by white sandy beaches.

Accommodation & Facilities
Kikapu is comprised of a main house and two separate cottages all nestled into beautifully maintained gardens overlooking the beach.  The main house sleeps six people in three light and airy en-suite bedrooms.  There is a very comfortable sitting room and dining room which have a real home from home feel.  The two cottages are tucked away in the garden and are entirely constructed from mangrove poles and coconut matting, very much in the style of safari rooms and both with en-suite facilities.  Both are very private and have superb views over the Indian Ocean.  There is also a swimming pool and poolside relaxing area in the garden.  The house and cottages are taken on an exclusive basis and during your stay a team of staff will look after your every need, which includes preparing mouth-watering seafood meals of oysters, crab, prawns, lobster and freshly caught fish on a daily basis.

Activities
The general atmosphere is of total relaxation and very private, but for those who want a little more action activities available include deep-sea fishing (sail fish, yellow-fin tuna etc), scuba diving, snorkelling, visits to the Arabuko Sokoke forest (very good for birding), Gede ancient ruins, Mida creek fishing and surfing in Malindi.  Sightings of marine mammals are good along this coast.
