Ku Chawe Inn

Ku Chawe Inn is perched high on the edge of the Zomba Plateau with views across to Mount Mulanje in the south and over the old colonial capital of Zomba town below.  The imposing mountain rises to 1,800m (6,000ft) with vast tracts of cedar, pine and cypress interspersed with indigenous forest and grasslands.  The plateau is criss-crossed with streams, cascading waterfalls and lakes, and there are driveable tracks right to the top offering superb views.

Accommodation & Facilities
Ku Chawe Inn has 37 spacious en-suite rooms with TV, air-conditioning, and fireplaces for the colder evenings.  Meals are eaten in the dining room or on a sunny terrace.  The beautifully landscaped gardens, also with lovely views, are prefect for a gentle stroll.

Activities
Places of interest around Zomba include local markets, the botanical gardens, the Commonwealth War Graves Memorial, and the old parliament, as well the many distinctive colonial buildings.  Guests at Ku Chawe Inn can also explore the natural habitat and enjoy the varied bird life on one of several forest walking trails. A guided tour of the plateau by vehicle, mountain bike, horseback or on foot can also be arranged and paid for locally. There is a trout farm nearby, so fishing is possible as well.
