Kulala Desert Lodge

Kulala Desert Lodge overlooks a dry riverbed on the western side of the Kulala Reserve in Namibia. From its prime location there are magnificent views of the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei to the west and the rugged Namib Mountains to the north and east.

Accommodation & Facilities
Kulala Desert Lodge has 23 Meru tents under thatched roofs, three of which are set up with two bedrooms for families. The rooms have ensuite bathrooms, built from local stone, which have an open air terrace in top, perfect for a ‘star bed’. The lodge has a spacious dining room, a relaxing lounge and bar, and a wide deck outside for enjoying the scenery. There’s also a small shop and a decent sized pool for hotter days.

Wildlife & Activities
Exploring the desert habitats and ecosystem is the focus of a stay at Kulala Desert Lodge, and guided drives into Sossusvlei are a particular highlight. The lodge also offers guided and un-guided walks, hikes in the Naukluft Mountains, use of electric ‘fat bikes’,  visits to Sesriem canyon, and guided drives on the Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Scenic flights and ballooning can be arranged for an additional price.
