Kwessi Dune Lodge

Kwessi Dune Lodge is located deep in Namibia’s striking NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast desert wilderness of over 200,000 hectares. Children of all ages are welcome at Kewssi Dune Lodge

Accommodation & Facilities
Kwessi Dune Lodge comprises 12 air-conditioned chalets with canvas walls and thatched roofs. There are family suites which can sleep two adults and two children, with the option of adding an extra bed. Each chalet has a separate ‘star gazer’ room, completely open to the sky, the perfect spot from which to watch the celestial theatre show above. The lodge has a main dining area and lounge as well as a swimming pool, and all enjoy views across the open desert.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can request alternative meal times and can choose from a specific children’s menu which includes spaghetti Bolognese, sandwiches, beef schnitzel with mash and carrots, and fish and chips. There are also smoothies and milkshakes available. Although there are no specific childcare services in place, a listening service can be arranged on request. There is no set fee for this service but a small tip is encouraged as a gesture of goodwill.

Wildlife & Activities
A stay here is not about chasing big wildlife but rather soaking up the beauty of the colourful landscape, admiring the antelope that scatter the sand, and gazing at the stars the light up the night sky. Quad biking (for ages 16 plus), drives and walks are all included in your stay and hot air ballooning, horse riding and day trips to Sossusvlei Dunes can all be arranged at an extra cost. Private wildlife viewing vehicles must be booked for families with children 12 years and younger to allow for the extra flexibility families desire.
