Kwihala Camp

Kwihala has a lovely peaceful and shady location in a forest of fig, jackalberry, rain trees, and sausage trees in Ruaha National Park overlooking the often-dry Mwagusi River and the Ikuka Falls.

Accommodation & Facilities
Kwihala has six spacious safari tents furnished with wooden beds, bedside tables, dressing table, hanging racks, floor rugs and curtains. The big bathrooms have a canvas bucket shower, and a flushing loo. One tent has space for four guests, and is ideal for a family. The camp has a large and cosy mess tent with a lounge and bar and a dining room. Meals are often eaten outside, either in the shade of the trees or in the riverbed. Solar powered lighting and battery charging is available throughout the camp.

Wildlife & Activities
Wildlife viewing in Ruaha is excellent, with large numbers of lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, and impala regularly seen. Leopard, wild dog and cheetah can also be found, in addition to numerous other mammals, and a huge number of birds. Day and night wildlife drives, walking safaris (dependent on the season), and scenic walks to the top of the escarpment are on offer at Kwihala. Balloon flights can also be arranged and paid for here.
