La Residence

La Residence is set on a 30 acre private estate in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, about an hour by car from Cape Town. Surrounded by vineyards and orchards it has stunning views of the mountains and is a peaceful, luxurious retreat in the heart of the Cape winelands region.

Accommodation & Facilities
The 16 suites are individually decorated, each with its own distinct atmosphere ranging from the orientally furnished Tibetan suite to the Provencal-styled Chambre Bleu. The Vineyard Suites are perfect for families and offer space and privacy. Each suite has a large central living area and two en-suite bedrooms with room for an extra child’s bed allowing for a maximum capacity of five. Outside there is a terrace and a private pool. The pools do not have shallow ends but there are steps and some can be netted if required. There is a wonderful spa, beautiful infinity swimming pool and a fully equipped gym. The restaurant offers fine wines and delicious cuisine based on local ingredients, many of which are grown on the estate. Children aged ten and under are not permitted in the main hotel but children of all ages are welcome at the family friendly Vineyard Suites.

Eating & Sleeping
Guests dine either in their villa or the central terrace room. Children can have separate mealtimes and there is a children’s menu at the terrace room.  Babysitting is available from a local company, ‘Holiday Nannies’, at a cost of R 150 per hour for the first child, with additional children charged at R100 extra per hour per child.

Activities
Guests can stroll through the estate’s gardens and vineyards and wine tasting can be easily arranged on site. For those wishing to enjoy some real down time, La Residence is a lovely place to just sit, relax and enjoy the scenery. It is also perfectly placed as a base from which to explore the vibrant wineland town of Franschhoek which is a five minute drive from the hotel. There’s plenty on offer from horse riding to browsing the boutiques and art galleries to sampling gourmet food and locally produced wine.
