Le Quartier Francais

Le Quartier Francais is a luxurious, small hotel famous for gourmet cuisine centrally located in the village of Franschhoek. Less than an hour from Cape Town, it is an ideal place from which to explore the Western Cape.

Accommodation & Facilities
The 21 individually appointed en-suite rooms are split into four categories and all situated around a central courtyard with beautiful gardens and a large swimming pool. Most of the Suites and Grande Rooms have sofa beds and can accommodate up to two children.  A cot is also available. In addition there is the three bedroomed Villa which offers two en-suite bedrooms, sitting rooms with fireplaces and a private pool.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can dine in the Garden Room at times to suit. Simpler dishes suitable for children are offered and include fresh, healthy and locally sourced produce – much of which is from the vegetable garden. There is also a room-service menu. Babysitting is supplied by an external certified child-minding company. The cost varies depending on what is required.

Activities
La Petite Colombe is Le Quartier’s signature restaurant, a sister to La Colombe in Constantia, which is rated as one of the finest in the world. La Petite Colombe is a similarly excellent establishment, offering a seasonal tasting menu with paired wines. For more informal dining, The Garden Room offers lighter meals and an à la carte menu throughout the day, as well as wonderful breakfasts. There are a variety of culinary classes on offer. For those wanting to enjoy a spot of pampering there is also ‘The Treatment Room’ offering an array of spa treatments from facials to massages, and the new ‘b.gorgeous’ day spa for manicures and pedicures.

Specifically for children …
Children’s bikes and helmets can be hired from a local bike company.  Within the greater Franschhoek and Stellenbosch area there are many child-friendly activities including butterfly world, giraffe world, a crocodile farm, cheetah outreach programme, and family friendly restaurants.
