Linyanti Ebony Camp
Linyanti Ebony Camp is situated on the banks of the Linyanti Marsh in a private concession outside the border of Chobe National Park. The camp is located near to Linyanti Bush Camp, and is set on raised decks to give great views over the Linyanti River and its massive swamps. Children of all ages are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
Linyanti Ebony Camp is an intimate safari camp with just four spacious tents, each with an en-suite bathroom with a flush loo and a shower. One of the four tents is a family tent. Situated close to the main area it has a master bedroom with king size bed and interconnecting children’s room with twin beds. An additional small child’s bed can be added if required. A comfortable lounge area and deck make this a great family experience. The tents have simple but smart furnishings, and offer great comfort and excellent views over the river and the swamps. The camp also has a child friendly small shallow splash pool and a central mess tent with a library and comfortable sofas. Meals are mostly eaten outside, but can be taken in the mess tent if needed.
Eating & Sleeping
The chefs are happy to prepare any foods that children enjoy (e.g. pizza, hamburgers, chicken strips, etc.) and will discuss children’s dietary preferences with parents on arrival. There is a pizza oven in camp where children can make their own pizzas with the chef which is a big hit with younger guests. Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Families tend to eat together and the camp prepares a big table for parents and children to sit together. The camp does not offer a listening or babysitting service so parents need to be responsible for their children at all times.
Wildlife & Activities
This area is best known for its large herds of elephants and wildebeest, especially in the dry season when the Linyanti Swamps are an essential source of water in an arid region. Wildlife that is often seen in this area and the surrounding marshes includes lion, leopard and wild dog, as well as hippo and crocodiles . The bird life here is prolific too. Linyanti Ebony Camp offers excellent wildlife viewing with first rate guides on day and night drives and walking safaris, and boating and fishing (seasonal) when water levels permit. Helicopter rides are offered at an additional cost from April to November.
