Londolozi Founders Camp

Set in the world famous Sabi Sands private game reserve, the exclusive 7,000 hectare Londolozi Private Game Reserve offers exceptional wildlife viewing.  Built close to the site where founders Charles Boyd Varty and Frank Unger lit their camp fire in 1926 the Londolozi camps are now run by their grand-children and great grand-children.  With five camps to choose from there is one to suit most tastes and whichever you select you can be assured of luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and superb guiding.  The group has been a member of Relais Chateaux since the early 1990s.

Accommodation & Facilities
The ten chalets that comprise Founders Camp sit in the shade of ancient ebony and matumi trees along the banks of the Sand River.  The rooms are decorated in a classic safari style complete with deep leather couches and military chests.  Each has an outside deck, with a private pool/jacuzzi, which is a perfect spot from which to view the resident game as it comes to the river.  Inter-connecting walkways link the chalets, making this a great camp for family visitors.  Other facilities include a bar, restaurant, gym and small spa.

Wildlife & Activities
The area is well known for superb game viewing and guests can explore with knowledgeable guides on game drives and bush walks.  Likely animal encounters include leopard, lion and elephant along with plentiful plains game. Children can enjoy the ‘Cubs Den’ where individually tailored programmes will ensure they get the most from their safari experience.   Yoga and massages can be arranged during safari down-time and time sleep-outs and astronomy lectures provide entertainment deep into the night.
