Londolozi Varty Camp

With five luxurious camps set within a private reserve of some 7,000 hectares, Londolozi offers superb accommodation in one of South Africa’s finest wilderness areas. Adjacent to the world famous Sabi Sands game reserve, and with game drives available across the two areas, exciting wildlife viewing is almost guaranteed here. The camps are set around the area where, in the 1920s, founders Charles Boyd Varty and Frank Unger lit their original camp fire, and are still run by their grand-children and great grand-children. Part of the Relais Chateaux group since the early 1990s Londolozi is perfect for safari goers wanting a touch of luxury. Children of six years and older are welcome at Londolozi Varty Camp.

Accommodation & Facilities
Varty Camp has a down-to-earth quality and the emphasis on family heritage means that children always have a place here. The accommodation comprises eight chalets and two superior suites decorated in the style of the owners’ private homes. Each of the chalets can be configured to inter lead with another so families can be easily accommodated. All rooms have private swimming pools framed by timber decks overlooking the bush. The living spaces are raised off the ground and shaded under a cathedral of trees. The camp also houses the boutique, gym, massage room and wine cellar which are accessible to guests staying at any of the Londolozi camps.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and chefs will discuss with parents each day what they would like to eat.

Wildlife & Activities
With over 16,000 acres to cover, no two game drives at Londolozi are the same, and expert guides will seek out all the best wildlife habitats during a stay here. With the Big 5 in residence, sightings of lion, leopard (particularly famous here), elephant, buffalo and rhino are all possible. Alongside these are plains filled with antelope and some excellent birding.  There are plenty of opportunities to relax during safari downtime, whether with a drink on your private deck or enjoying massage or a yoga session.
