Mara Private Mobile Camp

Mara Private Mobile Camp has a peaceful location in the Mara Triangle, close to the Tanzanian border. The Triangle is a quiet and semi-private part of the Masai Mara, with no other camps or lodges nearby, and few vehicles.

Accommodation & Facilities

The camp has a serene setting close to the foot of the Mara Siria Escarpment, with views into the Lamai Wedge of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Mikey and Tanya Carr-Hartley, owners of the Safari Collection, are the hosts, and create a warm, old-style safari camp atmosphere. With up to eight tents, the camp accommodates a maximum of 16 guests, and is set up specifically for each booking. The tents are set up a good distance apart, and are simple and comfortable, with flush loos and bucket showers. The mess tent has a dining room, lounge and bar, and there is a campfire outside.

Wildlife & Activities

The Masai Mara has superb wildlife year round, including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, zebra and wildebeest. From late July, through August and September into October, the great wildebeest migration floods into the Masai Mara from the Serengeti in Tanzania, spreading across the plains around the camp. This time of year is truly magnificent here, and the seclusion of the camp and the abundance of wildlife makes this an outstanding place in which to experience the Masai Mara.
