Matemwe Beach House

Matemwe Beach House is on the north east coast of Zanzibar, about an hour from Stone Town and in an area considered to be one of the most scenic on the eastern side of the Island with views across to Mnemba Atoll. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
Matemwe Beach House is an exclusive use three bedroom property which is ideal for families. The house is just metres from the beach and has its own child friendly private pool with steps and shallow end. Guests can use all the facilities at sister property Matemwe Lodge which is next door, while benefiting from the privacy offered by the house and dedicated staff. There are two double bedrooms downstairs, one of which is en-suite, with a third bedroom on a mezzanine floor which is ideal for children. The second double bedroom and children’s room share a bathroom.

Eating & Sleeping
A private chef means children can be easily catered for with child friendly meals such as pizza, fish and chips, chicken and pasta dishes, and at mealtimes to suit.

Activities
The house shares the fully equipped PADI recognised dive centre with Matemwe Lodge and it’s possible to snorkel or scuba dive at the famous Mnemba Atoll reefs as well as enjoy dolphin cruises, deep sea fishing, take guided reef walks or kayak. Guests can also take spice tours, visit Jozani Forest or Stone Town during a stay at Matemwe Beach House. Those preferring to relax can simply enjoy the peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

Specifically for children …..
The staff at the activity centre have plenty of experience with kids. Diving is from 12 years and above but an introductory course is available in the pool for younger children. Appropriately sized kit is available.
