Matetsi River House

Matetsi River House is situated beside the Zambezi River on the Matetsi Private Game Reserve, just 40km upstream of the famous Victoria Falls.  The 55,000 hectare private concession is home to an array of wildlife and has a private 15km stretch of Zambezi River frontage.

Matetsi River House is an exclusive-use four bedroom safari house, which comes with its own staff including a dedicated guide, private vehicle, chef and butler.   The house has its own indoor and outdoor dining areas, a verandah overlooking the Zambezi River and a lovely private swimming pool.  It’s the perfect spot for a family or group of friends travelling together.

Wildlife & Activities

Guests staying here can enjoy land and water based safari activities including game drives, walking safaris, canoeing, fishing, and sunrise and sunset boat cruises.  There are large herds of elephant and buffalo in the area as well as hippo, lion, wild dog, zebra, giraffe, crocodile, and plentiful antelope species.  It’s also a great spot for bird watching with some 366 species recorded.   As well as activities in the private reserve the lodge offers easy access to the Victoria Falls and the many adventures on offer there.
