Mboma Island Camp

Mboma Island Camp is positioned in a number of peaceful and private campsites on Godikwe Island in the remote northwest of the Moremi Game Reserve, part of Botswana’s spectacular Okavango Delta. The camp is moved regularly to minimise its impact on the environment, and is positioned close to waterways to give guests wonderful views of the pristine wilderness.

Accommodation & Facilities
Mboma Island Camp has a maximum of just five Meru style safari tents, which have en-suite bathrooms with safari bucket showers and eco-loos. The tents are large, well ventilated, and erected in sufficient numbers to suit just the number of guests in camp at any time. The tents have plenty of space for an extra bed, and can also be placed adjacent to each other for a family. The camp, which is lit throughout with oil lamps and solar electric lighting, has spacious dining and lounge tents, and a campfire around which drinks can be enjoyed before and after dinner. Meals are often eaten outside too, making the most of the shade provided by the big trees around the camp sites.

Wildlife & Activities
The Okavango Delta is renowned for its wealth of wildlife and birdlife, and also for the myriad of waterways that form this vast wetland. The focus of activities at Mboma Island Camp is on boat trips, mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions, and bird watching. Day time wildlife drives are also offered on the ‘mainland’.
