Mila Tented Camp

Mila Tented Camp has a peaceful setting in the Nyasirori region of the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park. The camp is positioned on a gentle hillside overlooking the plains running down to the forested banks of the Grumeti River. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities

Mila Tented Camp has just six authentically styled safari tents, one of which is set up for a family with two double en-suite rooms connected by a shared living area. All double tents have room for an additional rollaway bed for children up to 12 years old. The tents have en-suite bathrooms, a large bedroom, and a private shaded verandah outside. The camp has several mess tents, with dining and lounge spaces, and campfires outside.

Eating & Sleeping
The chefs are flexible and can accommodate separate meal times where possible, providing child friendly meals such as pizza, burgers, pasta, chicken tenders, toasted sandwiches. Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Babysitting is not available so parents need to be responsible for their children at all times.

Wildlife & Activities
The Western Corridor has excellent resident wildlife your round including leopard, buffalo, elephant, lion, kudu, giraffe, zebra, eland, and impala, and the wildebeest migration is seen here between March and June.  Wildlife drives with a private guide and vehicle are an excellent way to see the prolific wildlife of this beautiful part of the Serengeti, which includes some of Africa’s biggest crocodiles and largest prides of lions. Rare colobus monkeys can be found in the dense riparian forests along the Grumeti River. Balloon flights can be arranged for an additional charge.

Specifically for children …
The camp staff and guides are very child friendly and provide a range of suitable activities including:
● Playing football.
● Making a fire using natural resources in age old bush techniques.
● Cookie baking and decorating.
● Make your own pizza in a charcoal oven.
● Arts and crafts using natural materials from the bush such animals masks or binoculars.
● Homemade hot chocolate.
