Mozambique Horse Safaris

Owned by Pat and Mandy Retzlaff, Mozambique Horse Safaris operate tailor-made riding safaris on both the coast around Vilanculos and on Benguerra Island. Guests can enjoy riding on pristine white sand beaches, in the dunes or coastal bushland.

The Riding
The herd of over 25 horses is a mixture of Thoroughbreds, native Boerperds and bush ponies. These well-trained horses are schooled in both Western and English riding styles, and there are mounts to suit riders of all abilities.  Guests ride using a mixture of Australian stock, McClellan and English saddles.

Accommodation & Facilities
Situated on the outskirts of Vilanculos, Mozambique Horse Safaris accommodates guests at the beachfront Archipelago Resort. Each of the 18 chalets has beautiful views out over the ocean and comprises a double bedroom with an en-suite shower, lounge and veranda. The restaurant serves fantastic fresh food and the pool is situated in the gardens. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the stables and the surrounding area also offers golf, snorkelling and deep sea diving. Mozambique Horse Safaris are also happy to offer a wider range of hotels and resorts, should you wish.
