Musekese

Musekese is a small and rustic bush camp in the northern part of Zambia’s Kafue National Park, owned and run by Jeffery & McKeith Safaris. The camp is situated in riverine woodland overlooking the Eden Lagoon, which is often frequented by wildlife, and not far from the Kafue River. Founders Phil Jeffrey and Tyrone McKeith grew up in Zambia and, as well as being fantastic guides, are hugely passionate about the conservation of Kafue’s landscapes and wildlife.

Accommodation & Facilities

Musekese has just five canvas and gauze chalets set on raised decks. The en-suite bathrooms have bucket showers and flushing loos. The mess, which is also under a large stretched canvas roof thatch, provides a shady spot to relax during the heat of the day and enjoy cool drinks from the bar or enjoy communal lunches and dinners with the hosts. The camp has a viewing hide built into a tree-house nearby, overlooking the Eden Lagoon.

Wildlife & Activities

Musekese is situated in a remote area of the park with excellent wildlife habitats on its doorstep. Plentiful wildlife including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippo, puku, sable antelope, hartebeest, zebra and warthog is often seen, and especially on the grassland close to the camp. Walking safaris, day and night drives and boat safaris are all offered here, with the latter providing a particularly enjoyable contrast with incredible scenery and wonderful and very varied bird-life.
