Mwagusi Safari Camp

Mwagusi is situated in the north of Ruaha National Park on the banks of the Mwagusi sand river in Tanzania. Less well known than some parks, Ruaha has a wealth of game, over 520 species of birds and large concentrations of elephant, giraffe and buffalo.

Accommodation & Facilities
Built in the ‘old style’ of reed and thatch, 13 bandas accommodate a maximum of 26 guests. Each chalet consists of an open air shaded lounge area at the front. A comfortable tented central sleeping area and behind and adjoining the tent there is a spacious bathroom with a hot shower and flushing loo. Depending on the seasons meals are either taken out in the open under the stars or in the comfortable centrally located bar / dining area. The food here is really tasty home cooking ensuring you will leave here a little heavier.

Wildlife & Activities
The camps is owned and run by Chris Fox one of Tanzania’s elite guides. He ensures guests are warmly welcomed and beautifully looked after by his superb staff. Game activities are centred around drives but short bird walks are conducted in the early morning and longer guided walking safaris can be arranged (this should be done in advance so a National Park’s ranger can be booked).
