Okonjima Villa

Okonjima Villa has a secluded and peaceful location deep inside the 20,000 hectare Okonjima Private Nature Reserve, surrounded by natural bush and open plains, and with views of the distant hills. Just two and a half hours from Windhoek, it’s the perfect place for a few nights before or after visiting Etosha or Damaraland.

Accommodation & Facilities

Okonjima Villa has ample space for up to 12 guests, making it ideal for a large family or two families travelling together. Of the four air-conditioned bedrooms, two are in the central part of the villa, along with the dining room, lounge, kitchen and bar, while the remaining rooms are individual suites spaced out either side of the central building, allowing privacy and peace for grandparents or parents of older children. The rooms can all open up at the front to allow the sights and sounds of the bush in, or can be closed to keep the elements out. The bathrooms are all ensuite, and have inside and outside showers as well as flush loos and generously large bathtubs.

Wildlife & Activities

Okonjima is the home of the Africat Foundation, a research and education organisation that primarily focuses on the conservation of cheetah and other predator species in Namibia, and reducing the human-wildlife conflict that still occurs here. The activities on offer include walks and drives to find collared and un-collared leopard, night drives on the reserve, visits to the Africat Centre, and self-guided walks along extensive trails in the reserve.
