Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is a privately owned and managed tented camp with an emphasis on fantastic guiding and personal service. Located in the 90,000 acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the camp is not far from Nanyuki in northern Kenya. The camp is set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River, giving an authentic bush experience with views of Mount Kenya in the distance. Ol Pejeta is the home of the last three surviving northern white rhino in the world and as such wildlife conservation is at its heart.  Families with children aged five and over are welcomed at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp.

Accommodation & Facilities
Ol Pejeta Bush Camp can accommodate 12 guests in six spacious en-suite canvas tents, all of which can be set up as family rooms as well as doubles or twins. For families, two extra single beds can be added to the tents accommodating up to four people. Hot water is always readily available, and the en-suite bathrooms have a flushing loo and a hot bucket shower. Meals are often eaten outside, and the camp has a spacious mess tent and lounge tent for relaxing and reading books from the well-stocked library.

Eating & Sleeping
The staff are happy to provide meals at whatever time scale works for guests. All the usual child friendly food is offered and specific dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.  A babysitting service is not available but a listening service is offered whereby an Askari (guard) will be posted at the door of the child’s tent and will alert parents if the child wakes.

Wildlife & Activities
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is renowned for its protection of rare and endangered species, including black and white rhino, elephant, big cats, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and a variety of other game. Alex Hunter, the owner, is a renowned guide, and offers guests an authentic and personal insight into Kenya’s wildlife and wilderness. Activities such as day and night wildlife drives, visiting the chimpanzee and rhino sanctuaries and local schools are paired with a ‘hands on’ approach to conservation, lion tracking and observation of the Endangered Species Enclosure. Guests are welcome to be as active or relaxed as they want.
