Olerai House

Olerai House is a private lodge set in the grounds of the Douglas-Hamilton family home close to the shore of Lake Naivasha in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.

Accommodation & Facilities
Once a farmhouse, Olerai sits in a grove of huge fever trees surrounded by expansive and lush gardens. There are six guest rooms, some in the main house and others close by around a courtyard, all with unique designs and decor. The overall feel is of rustic sophistication, and the colour schemes are all bright, vibrant and fun. The rooms all have en-suite bathrooms, and there are plenty of sofas, cosy armchairs and places to eat scattered throughout the lodge.

Wildlife & Activities
Olerai House has a large amount of resident wildlife living on its sanctuary, including buffalo, giraffe, waterbuck, zebra, impala, Thompson’s gazelle, and colobus monkey, all of which guests can see on walks or while relaxing at the house. Lake Naivasha is renowned for the variety and quantity of birdlife, and Olerai is a good place from which to see some of it. Boat trips on the lake, horse and mountain bike rides, golf, visits to flower farms, and hikes on Mt Longonot and in Hells Gate National Park can all be arranged and paid for on site.
