Oyster Bay Hotel – now closed
Oyster Bay Hotel is a privately owned boutique hotel in Dar es Salaam that has spectacular views over the Indian Ocean. The hotel is about an hours’ drive from the airport and is the perfect choice if you are looking for a luxurious stop-over in Dar before an onward flight or perhaps a certain ‘wow’ factor at the start or end of a holiday. The hotel has a very welcoming and flexible feel and impeccable levels of service. Children of all ages are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
This intimate hotel consists of just eight large and impressive en-suite sea view facing rooms. Each room has been elaborately furnished in a contemporary African style and has air-conditioning, a fan, a television, seating area and writing desk. Families can be accommodated by adding children’s rollaway beds to a double or twin room to make a triple. The communal areas of this recently restored hotel include a shady outside terrace and large airy lounge.
Eating & Sleeping
Fantastic meals using only the best fresh ingredients are served in the stylish dining area around the large wooden dining table enabling guests to swap tales of their travels. Families eat together and the chef is happy to provide standard meals or tailor make meals to suit the children’s needs.
There are no formal childcare facilities so parents must be responsible for their own children at all times.
Activities
The facilities are completed with a swimming pool in the beautifully maintained gardens. The Oyster Bay Hotel is also conveniently located within secure walking distance from the Oyster Bay shopping centre.
