Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, Mauritius

The Paradis is an impressive resort that stretches along a wide swathe of sandy beach on a secluded peninsula in the south west of Mauritius, about 90 minutes’ drive from the airport. With the Le Morne Mountain as a backdrop, the hotel occupies one of the most spectacular sites on the island, and has a real feeling of exclusivity.

Accommodation & Facilities

With nearly 300 rooms, there is a wide variety of accommodation here, the majority of which faces the water, offering an uninterrupted view of the sea as it breaks spectacularly over the distant reef.  Accommodation options for families are numerous and include inter-leading standard rooms or family suites sleeping two adults and two or three children.  For larger families, the three bedroomed Paradis Villas, sleeping four adults and four children, or the four bedroomed Presidential Villa sleeping ten are ideal. Thanks to the high level of service, the hotel always feels very private, even during the peak season.

The pool is on one level, which makes the supervision of children particularly easy. The Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa has four restaurants, and shares facilities with its sister hotel, the Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, further along the beach which has a further four restaurants and another excellent spa.

Eating & Sleeping

Parents can opt for children to eat lunch and dinner with their friends at the Kids Club. Lunch is at 12.30 and dinner at 6.15pm and depending on the number of children will either be at the Kids Club or sometimes in the main restaurant.

Babysitters are available – 24hrs notice is required – at a cost of Rs300 per hour per child for a minimum of two consecutive hours. The babysitter will be a Paradis Hotel staff member.

Activities

The emphasis here is very much on family and sporting holidays. Both adults and children can have tuition in a variety of sports from golf to water skiing. There is an excellent children’s club with children’s pool, a fully equipped gym, a spa, and a water sports centre that offers complimentary water skiing, sailing, glass bottom boat trips and snorkelling. There is also an on site scuba diving centre as well as a spectacular 18 hole golf course. For fishing enthusiasts, deep sea fishing can be arranged locally.

There is a complimentary Kids Club reserved for children aged three to 12, and open from 9am – 11pm where a team of professionals keep children entertained with age appropriate activities such as:
