Pelican Point Lodge

Possibly one of the most extraordinary places in Africa, Pelican Point Lodge is a former lighthouse and harbour control centre, set on a spit of land jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean at Walvis Bay in Namibia. The lodge has the Atlantic to one side, and Walvis Bay Lagoon to the other, with just a narrow strip of sand separating the two bodies of water.

Accommodation & Facilities
Pelican Point has nine suites, each of which has a unique design and ocean or lagoon views. Eight are located at the foot of the lighthouse within the converted harbour control building, while the Captain’s Cove Suite takes the top floor, with a panoramic 360õ degree view of the ocean, lagoon and land. The style is contemporary, warm, and inviting, and the suites are well equipped with cosy beds, large and luxurious bathrooms, a fireplace, and a deck for taking in the amazing setting. The lodge has a spacious lounge and a dining room, although meals may be eaten wherever guests wish.

Wildlife & Activities
Among the multitude of activities available at Pelican Point are kayaking on Walvis Bay Lagoon, beach-combing, walks and picnics at the seal colony, bird watching, boat cruises to see dolphins, seals and porpoises, quad biking and sand boarding in the dunes, surfing, fishing, paragliding, desert tours, ballooning, sky-diving, and scenic flights over the desert and the dunes.
