Phinda Homestead
Phinda Homestead is situated in the 28,555 hectare Phinda Private Game Reserve in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal region. The reserve encompasses an impressive seven diverse ecosystems and an extraordinary range of wildlife, including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino.
Accommodation & Facilities
Phinda Homestead is a luxurious, exclusive-use villa, beautifully located in the bush overlooking a waterhole, and ideal for small groups or families. The villa comprises expansive sitting and dining areas and four generous suites, each equipped with en-suite bathrooms with inside and outside showers, and decorated using a unique blend of contemporary chic and traditional African design. The Homestead has generous outside spaces, with a big viewing deck, an infinity pool, and a fire-pit, all of which have lovely views over the waterhole into the surrounding bush. The Homestead provides an atmosphere of tranquillity and privacy, and has its own personal butler and chef to cater for guests’ every need.
Wildlife & Activities
In addition to day and night wildlife drives with highly experienced and very knowledgeable guides and trackers, guests can enjoy bush walks, and sleep outs. Rhino notching, rhino tracking on foot, and pangolin tagging are also offered on a limited basis at an additional cost. Phinda’s close proximity to the Maputaland coastline means that guests can enjoy beach activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving, deep-sea fishing and beach picnics, visits to local villages, and viewing turtle nesting sites can be arranged and paid for locally; some are for children of 12 years and upwards, so please ask us for more details.
