Raffles Seychelles
Raffles Seychelles has a beautiful location on the north east coast of Praslin, the second largest of the Seychelles islands. The hotel is set on the beachfront of Anse Takamaka, a 500 metre stretch of powder white sand and crystal clear turquoise sea, and has lovely views to the islands beyond.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation is in 86 en-suite villas (18 hillside villas, 20 ocean view villas, 26 panoramic villas, 5 royal ocean view villa suites, 2 royal panoramic villa suites and four two bedroomed villas). All accommodation allows for an additional rollaway bed or cot, with the majority of villas allowing for two children. The two bedroomed villas can accommodate up to two adults and four children, providing families the extra space they need. Each villa has been built into the gently sloping granite of the island and offers at least 125 square metres of space together with a private plunge pool and outdoor pavilion. The rooms are luxuriously furnished with king sized bed, in-villa bar, bath tubs with a view, outdoor rain shower, double walk in wardrobe and equipped with the most up to date electronics including plasma television, dvd player, wireless internet and a sound system with MP3 capability. The main hotel pool is child friendly and has a shallow end suited for family use.
Eating & Sleeping
The resort is very child friendly and offers a children’s menu, which includes vegetable sticks and cream cheese, pasta, pizza, vegetable rice, panko chicken nuggets, and is available at all four restaurants. Children can have separate meal times and in-villa dining is available 24-hours a day allowing extra flexibility for families. A babysitting service is available and is provided by a member from the Kids Club at a rate of SCR 400 per hour per child plus transportation for the babysitter after midnight. This service is subject to availability and must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance.
Activities
The facilities of this resort are completed with a spa, gym and several restaurants including in-villa dining and butler service. The restaurants cover a multitude of tastes from the international to the local Creole dishes. For clients who tire of relaxing by the pool or on the beach, Raffles can arrange a number of water sports and excursions including scuba diving, snorkelling, boat trips and island tours.
Specifically for children …
The ‘Sugar Palm’ kids club is open daily from 0900 – 1700 and is available for toddlers, children and teenagers. A specially trained recreation team is on hand to deliver a tailored programme to create memorable and educational experiences in a fun environment. Activities include:
• Children 4-12: arts and crafts, baking classes, nature walks, historical stories, sand castle building, treasure hunts, hair braiding, tortoise visit, fish feeding, crab hunting
• Teenagers 12-18: island excursions, hiking trails, bike tours, sports, film screenings
The club is well-equipped with infant care amenities such as high chairs, cribs and nappies. Children under 4 years must be accompanied by a parent or babysitter at all times.
