Sala’s Camp

Sala’s Camp is a small, privately owned tented camp in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp is set in a shaded forest in a remote location on the banks of the Sand River at the southern edge of the Masai Mara. The camp has a wonderful view southwards into Tanzania and the Northern Serengeti. Children of all ages are welcome at Sala’s Camp.

Accommodation & Facilities
There are seven luxurious safari tents, including two for families. The tents all have wide glass fronts which can be fully opened to allow Africa inside. The two family tents both have plunge pools which have steps and are 1.5m deep.
Keekorok family tent is the larger family option and has two separate bedrooms with a central sitting room. Both bedrooms can be configured as a double, twin or triple bedroom. There is a sofa bed in the middle seating area for an additional person. The maximum occupancy for this tent is six people. Forest family tent is one large room with a small dividing screen. One side is a double and the other side can be configured as a double, twin or triple bed room. There are two separate bathrooms. The maximum occupancy for this room is five people.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and a separate children’s menu is offered. Parents can discuss and agree the menu for their children with the managers and head chef on arrival. The chef can cater to most dietary requirements if there are specific dietary requirements please advise prior to arrival. A baby-listening service is available when parents of young children wish to dine after the children have gone to bed. Typically, it would be one of the female housekeeping staff who do this and there is no extra charge although a gratuity at the end of the visit is very much appreciated by the babysitter..
