Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is an exceptionally well run lodge. Situated on a 8,000 hectare private concession, Sandibe has exclusive traversing rights over 55, 000 acres of wildlife land adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve in the south east of the Okavango Delta. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
Sandibe has 12 spacious suites, including a family suite, on raised decks built of timber and roofed with shingles, providing a delightful combination of peace and comfort and great views over the surrounding landscape. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom including an open air shower, as well as a plunge pool and a fireplace. The rooms have gauze windows to maximise views of the forest. The family suite is made up of two interleading suites joined by an enclosed walkway and can accommodate two adults and two children (three on special request). The lodge offers spacious, comfortable areas for relaxing, a sun deck around the swimming pool, and an outside fireplace to keep you warm while star gazing at night.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and a children’s menu is provided. A listening service, whereby a member of lodge staff sits outside the tent while the children are sleeping, can be provided as can babysitting – someone to look after the children during the daytime. This is normally carried out by the lodge butlers who are experienced in looking after children and the cost is USD 5 per hour and should be booked on the day of arrival at the lodge.

Wildlife & Activities
Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge offers day and night game drives and guided bush walks, and the wildlife to be seen here includes lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, leopard, cheetah, and sometimes wild dog.

Specifically for children …
• Children can take advantage of the WildChild Programme. This offers fun, interactive activities and expeditions tailored to the children’s age and interest. Each young traveller will receive a WildChild backpack and will find an assignment for the following day’s expedition laid out on their pillow.  Activities include:
• Baking in the interactive kitchen.
• Learn to track with your ranger.
• Bug finding.
• Star gazing.
