Singita Castleton

Singita is synonymous with exceptional levels of service, guiding and hosting. Singita Private Game Reserve covers 18,000 hectares of private land and is situated in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, on the western border of South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park. With no fencing between the two areas game is free to move between the reserves. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
A small, exclusive retreat Singita Castleton Camp is a private villa which can accommodate up to 12 guests at any one time, in six en-suite rooms. The rooms are arranged around the garden, which has a swimming pool with views over the nearby water hole. Other facilities include an indoor and outdoor dining area, sitting room, tennis court, trampoline and library with internet access. The style here is one of authentic charm and the villa combines the best elements of a private safari lodge with the rustic charms of a country farm house. The private staff including house manager, chef, housekeeper, guide and tracker will ensure that every group and family feels at home. A private open Land Rover safari vehicle (for up to eight guests) is included allowing for further privacy and flexibility (in the interest of safety, participation of children in game activities is at the discretion of the guide).

The swimming pool has plenty of pool toys to choose from and welcoming loungers on the deck. There are steps leading into the pool and a railing to assist with access. The pool is not fenced so children must be supervised at all times.

Eating & Sleeping
The private staff of house manager, chef, housekeeper, guide and tracker provides an exclusive and private experience for families visiting the villa, including flexible mealtimes for all guests and menus to suit. Babysitting services are available (to be booked in advance).

Wildlife & Activities
Day and night vehicle based game drives and guided nature walks provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy some of the best wildlife viewing in South Africa. Other activities on offer here include archery and mountain biking, but this is also a perfect place for those wishing to simply relax and enjoy the beautiful African wilderness.

Specifically for children ….
There are tailor made activities to suit each family. Activities include:
• Private tennis court.
• Trampoline for children (and adults) to have fun.
• Archery.
• Baking with chefs (pizza/cookie making).
• Arts and crafts.
• Board games.
• Astronomy and stargazing.
• Bush walks around camp.
• Mini Rangers’ Course – this programme includes tracking animals, a cosmic safari (astronomy), learning bush survival techniques, flower-pressing (in summer), frogging, butterfly capture and release, wildlife and bird identification, nature quizzes, and a ranger’s test. A certificate is awarded on completion to recognise  new-found knowledge and accomplishments.
