Singita Mara River Tented Camp

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is located in a tranquil spot on the Mara River in the Lamai triangle, the northern most tip of the Serengeti National Park. The camp offers a pared-down approach to the quintessential Singita safari without compromising on any creature comforts. Children from 10 years are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has just six luxury safari tents each beautifully designed in a contemporary African style using natural materials including wood, stone, canvas and leather giving an ambience of bohemian glamour. The spacious tents have their own private deck area and outdoor bathroom with wonderful views from the bathtub. There are two family tents, each of which can accommodate an extra child’s bed thereby sleeping a maximum of five (at a squeeze).

The main area of Singita Mara River Tented Camp has a covered lounge and dining area with superb views over the Mara River, as well as an outdoor deck area, sundowner bar tent and plunge pool.

Eating & Sleeping
The chefs are used to catering to children of all ages and dietary needs. Children are offered the standard meals or the chefs can prepare pizza, burgers, pasta etc.  Specific dietary requests can be accommodated with prior notice.

Although there are no formal childcare facilities in camp, security staff can sit outside the children’s tent while they sleep should parents want to eat later than their children.

Wildlife & Activities
The camp is in a prime location with abundant year-round concentrations of resident plains game, big cats and elephant in addition to the Mara River’s large populations of crocodile and hippo. Guests can explore the area with expert guides on game drives in open sided 4×4 vehicles and on guided walking safaris. The annual wildebeest migration is in the area between July and November and the camp’s close proximity to the Mara River makes it an ideal spot from which to catch all the action including, if you are lucky, one of the famous river crossings.

Activities are tailored specifically to suit each family. In the interest of safety, participation of children in any game activities is at the discretion of their guide.
