Skybeds

Khwai Skybeds is a small and simple camp that sits in the treeline overlooking a small ‘pan’, or waterhole, in the Khwai Private Reserve in northern Botswana. The Khwai Private Reserve is on the northern side of the Khwai River, close to the Okavango Delta.

Accommodation & Facilities
There are four Skybeds, one of which is designed for a family. They are two storey, open-sided wooden structures with the sleeping area under the stars on the top floor, and an enclosed bathroom with a shower and a flush loo on the first level. Lighting is provided by oil lamps, giving the camp a very romantic and authentic atmosphere. Meals are eaten al fresco on the viewing deck of the Skybeds, or in the bush during the day.

Wildlife & Activities
Sleeping out under the Botswana night sky is an exhilarating experience, especially since the waterhole is so well frequented by wildlife that includes elephant, zebra, eland and kudu. The sharp eyed may also spot honey badger, porcupine, and bush-baby if there’s enough moonlight. During the day, guests can go on game drives on the reserve, looking for lion, wild dog, buffalo, sable and roan antelope, waterbuck, giraffe, and plenty of birdlife.
