Splash Enclave

Splash Enclave is a private part of Splash Camp, laid out among the trees around the edge of Splash pan, or waterhole, deep inside the Kwara private concession in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The Kwara concession extends to 175,000 hectares, and has just one other camp within it, which allows guests exclusive and superb wildlife viewing. Whilst Splash Camp has a child policy of six years old, Splash Enclave has no age restrictions when used exclusively, making it the perfect location for larger family bookings.

Accommodation & Facilities
Splash Enclave can accommodate six to 12 guests in up to six tents, each built on a raised wooden deck giving good views of the wildlife that comes to the pan year round. One of the tents has two bedrooms and is perfect for a family. All of the tents have en-suite bathrooms, with inside and outside showers and flush loos, an outside lounge under a shady canopy and room for an additional bed when needed. They are decorated in a contemporary style with smart and up to date furniture. There is a child friendly plunge pool with steps for easy access and a sloping bottom too. Meals are often eaten outside under the stars or a shady tree. Splash Enclave is a great choice for a family or a group of friends looking for privacy and flexibility. This section of the camp has its own plunge pool, dining area, fire pit, lounge and bar, and a private safari vehicle and guide for activities.

Eating & Sleeping
The chefs are happy to prepare children’s food at mealtimes to suit and will discuss children’s dietary preferences with parents on arrival. Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Babysitting is not usually available but can be requested on an ad-hoc basis at the discretion of the camp staff, there is no set fee for this service but a small tip is encouraged as a gesture of goodwill.

Wildlife & Activities
The Kwara concession has an excellent wildlife population which includes lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, kudu and notably wild dog. The activities on offer include day and night wildlife drives in open vehicles, walking safaris, and if water levels permit, mokoro (dug-out canoe) trips and boat cruises. Catch and release fishing is offered from March to December.
