Stanley Safari Lodge

Stanley Safari Lodge is an exclusive hideaway only 20 minutes from the Victoria Falls. Set on a hill overlooking the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and the Zambezi River, and with the spray of the Victoria Falls in the distance, the views are unmatched, especially at sunset. Children of all ages are welcome at Stanley Safari Lodge.

Accommodation & Facilities
Six cottages and four suites at Stanley Safari Lodge, all with en-suite facilities, enjoy the same view over the Zambezi valley. The family suite can accommodate a maximum of six in two bedrooms and has a private splash pool. The Stanley suite can also double as a family room as it has two bedrooms. Most of the rooms, including the family suite, are open-sided towards the view and absorb the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush. The main house has extensive gardens, a wine cellar, several lounges and dining areas. The large infinity pool has a shallow end, sloping bottom and steps. The private table set-up ensures that guests can enjoy dinner anywhere they desire: on the upper deck, in the wine cellar, outdoors under the stars, around the infinity pool or a private dinner in the room.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and can order from a child friendly menu which includes pizzas, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, burgers, French fries, hot dogs and tomato pasta. If parents want to eat later it’s possible to arrange for one of the house keeping ladies to babysit.

Wildlife & Activities
Activities at Stanley Safari Lodge centre around the Victoria Falls and Zambezi River and include a guided tour of the Falls, sunset river cruise or village and museum tour. Among other activities available at an extra cost are helicopter flights, day-trips to Botswana or rafting.

Specifically for children …
• There are lots of activities in Livingstone town although some are limited to children over the age of 12 years.
• Visiting the reptile farm and local market.
• Mountain biking (helmets are available).
• The property is fenced so children can play safely on the lawn and there is a selection of games available.
• The guides and guest relations staff are all very good with children and will happily play with them or teach them to  play Mulabalaba, a traditional African board game.
