Tangulia Mara Camp

Tangulia Mara Camp is owned by Jackson Looseyia, a well known and outstanding Masai guide. The camp sits below the Oloolo escarpment on a terrace above the Mara River, on the western side of Kenya’s renowned Masai Mara. The camp is well shaded by old olive and diospyros trees, and has superb views across the river to the open plains beyond, as well as of a well-used salt lick.

Accommodation & Facilities
There are six traditional safari tents at Tangulia, and one larger family suite. The tents have en-suite bathrooms, shaded verandahs, and locally crafted furniture. Set on a wooden deck, the family suite has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a central lounge, and a full-length shaded verandah at the front. It is ideal for families with up to three children, or friends travelling together. The camp has a solar powered electrical supply, and hot water is also provided by solar means. The dining room and lounge sit under a large thatched roof, and allow guests to relax in comfort while watching the wildlife coming to the river, and crossing the plains.

Wildlife & Activities

Drives into the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Mara Triangle conservancy in open safari vehicles offer guests superb wildlife viewing with highly experienced and very knowledgeable guides. Meals in the bush and walks on the escarpment add to the experience, and Jackson can be requested as a private guide for a small supplement.
